Dim Mak Pressure Points Are Not All Equal, A Liver 13 Zhang Men Example

In any defensive situation dim mak pressure points martial artists hope to disable their Attacker as quickly and efficiently as possible. Pressure points are not all equal, so some of the best points to use are the ones that adversely affect Chi and blood in the body while upsetting the critical balance of the body's Yin and Yang.

When practitioners uses DM their desire is no different, using pressure points increases the odds of defending ourselves effectively. Dim mak is efficient, its aim is to disable in one hit, giving you plenty of time to get out of the situation. But you might like to know how exactly this is done.

There are many vital points that practitioners have available to them. Each point has its own specific effect on the body, but there are some points, 14 to be precise, that are extremely dangerous and very effective. These are the 14 that destroy Chi and blood by affecting Yin and Yang.

As a student of dim mak you will be well aware of the important role that Yin and Yang play, not only in the human body, but all around us, and of their interrelatedness and reliance on each other. Yin and Yang balance each other ensuring that the body remains harmonious and as healthy as possible.

Disruption to one or the other causes disruptions to the body and spirit. Sufficient contact to collapse Yin will also lead to a collapse of Yang, and the same is true in reverse. This collapse can cause death if not corrected quickly, effectively and efficiently. At the very least, serious illness can develop and if left untreated, the illnesses worsen.

Some points when hit will destroy a multiple number of energies at the same time. One of these points is Liver 13 Zhang Men.

At the point Liver 13 Zhang Men all the Chi of the Yin organs meet. Using this point in a self defence situation requires utmost care and vigilance, a heavy blow will result in instantaneous death, a light blow can result in a range of very painful symptoms, including nausea, diarrhoea, abdominal distension and symptoms similar to those seen in patients with hepatitis and jaundice, including yellow skin and a dark face.

On a more basic level a blow to this point can break ribs, especially those with floating ends, the 11th and 12th ribs, which can in turn rupture internal organs. So extreme care is to be taken when training with these points.

When determining and understanding the impact and nature of a blow to a dim mak point, such as Liver 13 Zhang Men, the practitioner needs a full understanding of the consequences of this action in terms of Yin and Yang, Chi energy and the more basic physical manifestations of broken bones and so on. This understanding will also help to self-heal oneself in case of accidental injury to Liver 13 Zhang Men, which is common in martial arts even when training without a pressure point focus.

The use of pressure points should never be taken lightly as they are extremely efficient when used correctly. And they are dangerous when used with incorrect or incomplete knowledge.
