What should be included in a dim mak martial arts pressure points training programme
Dim Mak pressure points training have been successfully incorporated into many martial arts styles. When taught correctly, anyone can be effective with pressure points. This article gives you the topics that should be taught if you are to learn pressure points properly.Dim Mak study consists of theory and practical applications. It is of Chinese origin so it uses - and you will be introduced to - principles of traditional Chinese medicine to explain the consequences of both -- blows to the body, and the healing benefits of pressure points. Other systems, such as Western medicine, cannot be used to fully explain DM. For example, one cannot completely use the laws of physics to explain chemistry. More importantly, practical and theoretical studies should include at least the following: - how to select and locate pressure points accurately
- how to strike at pressure points in self defence
- how Chi and Blood are destroyed
- how Yin or Yang in the body is damaged
- how to use the Five Elements to weaken your opponent
- how to use the meridian system to reverse the natural flow of Chi Life Force Energy in the body
- how the internal organs such as the heart, liver or kidneys can be destroyed
- the best points to use in combat and the best points for healing
- and much more…
The practical applications of DM are strictly for self-defence purposes only. Dim Mak's Practical Defence Strategies should include techniques that teach you: - which pressure points to use in dangerous situations
- how to use those points for maximum results, and how not to use other points
- how to safely control or restrain your assailant
- blocking and counter-attacking techniques giving maximum speed and accuracy with minimum effort
- how to strike your attacker's pressure points with maximum effectiveness
- Chi building internal exercises to harness Chi vital energy and increase internal power
Dim Mak has been successfully incorporated into many martial arts, such as karate, judo, jiu jitsu, grappling, hapkido, tae kwon do, kick boxing, kung fu, tai chi and others. When taught correctly, anyone can be effective with pressure points. The healing aspect of dim mak pressure points should also be taught. This is because in ancient China, martial arts and medicine developed hand in hand for many years. Chinese martial arts masters, including Monks who studied martial arts for self-defence developed their medical knowledge while treating injuries, their own and those of their students, received during practice and in dealings with the communities around them. On the other hand, the Chinese medical practitioners of the time were also required to know some martial arts, not only to understand the effects of injury and how to treat them, but to help their patients recover from illness. This symbiotic relationship not only helps explain the interwoven histories of Chinese martial arts and medicine, but also why a master of one discipline was usually very knowledgeable of the other. Again, if your teacher cannot teach these to you, feel free to have access to that knowledge from my books, manual, courses and seminars.
